Last wednesday journalists and bloggers were invited to a rather peculiar place in Brussels for a Hendrick's Gin tasting in style hosted by global ambassador Xavier Padovani.

Born in Scotland in the mid-19th century, Hendrick's is a premium gin made with a number of unusual twists to deliver the most curious arrangement.

No wonder their blog is called the Unusual Times.

The gin is made of 11 botanical ingredients with infusions of cucumber and rose petals, which adds up to a wonderfully refreshing beverage indeed!

s.Oliver was a little early this year celebrating Xmas! Three bloggers - Debbie, Afrodite & Hanne - got the chance to throw a Xmas party for their fans in the s.Oliver store in Antwerp.
They invited their readers for some late night shopping, food and drinks - Xmas cupcakes included - in a Xmas setting!

As the first snow of the winter fell down on the streets of Antwerp.. guests got cosy inside the s.Oliver store with cava and finger food.

Everyone could shop their heart out with a 25 euro voucher and on top of that a 25% discount! The bloggers gave their readers some super styling advice and make-up artists were present to complete their Christmas look!

As cherry on the cake a Xmas tombola brought this merry evening to an end where one lucky reader won a night sleep in the modern Pantone hotel in Brussels!

Last week ancient backpack brand Hedgren gave a preview of their new capsule collection with Tony Spackman, who previously designed for Nike and is now working on his own conceptual collection 'The Non'.

Tony was inspired by the new creative nomads, who travel a lot and need some fashionable comfort when they're running in and out of airports and offices. The result is an edgy, but still fashionable & functional inner & outer bag concept.

The preview took place in the apartment of Gory "Kissinger" Willems, a creative nomad himself. The launch of the bags was accompanied by an expo of famous fashion backstage photographer Sonny Vandevelde.

A month ago, Nike & oona launched a running initiative : Battle of The Cities.

The concept is simple, to run 5km for your city and the winning one gets an exclusive concert!

The events were successful and a lot of runners showed up. In Leuven the running community showed its support with more than 450 running people!

Tomorrow it's Battle of The Cities - Brussels! For this special occasion Svetlana Bolshakova, Elodie Ouedraogo, Kim Gevaert & Olivier Deschacht will be there!

If you feel like running with them, all you have to do is to be at VUB tomorrow on november 16th, at 6:45 PM!

It's been two weeks now that Battle Of The Cities is running. The concept is simple, 7 cities are in the competition, they have to run a max of kilometers and the winning one will win a exclusive live show.

It's with some big names that Rock Ternat ended up the festival season last week-end. The crowd had the chance to dance on music from artists such as Stromae, Das Pop, Arsenal.

Next to the live shows, they could participate to many activities like the Bogs catwalk!

The contest was simple : get the more like on Facebook and win a pair of Bogs.

The participant had to walk on the catwalk, strike the pose, tag himself on Facebook and try to generate the more like. The pictures have been published on the Bogs Facebook page.

People were really enthusiastic about the activity! It's true that it's not every day that you have the chance to hit the runway!

"Dream The World Awake" is the name of the new exhibition at the MOMU in Antwerp. And boy did we dream awake at the vernissage last week! Colorful silhouettes always with a hint of humor, intertwined with buck loads of inspiration and of course the man himself in an astonishing green/blue suit (impossible to ketch on photo unfortunately). It gives you a warm feeling, walking into Walters world. A wonderful exhibition, worth visiting! A good story, perfectly told, just as we like it at oona ;)

The iconic brand Le Creuset opened a new shop at Maasmechelen Village!
To celebrate this, Roger Van Damme, the Dutch master chef known for his scrumptious desserts, was present at a Food in Style event in the Creuset store to show some of his cooking magic with the use of Creuset.

Vans Brussels Opening - Press Event

Vans Brussels is now open!

On September 8th, Vans together with oona organized a press event in their new shop in Brussels. Vans is located in rue du marché aux herbes in the center of Brussels.

You can find a large range of shoes, clothes and accessories for men, women and kids. The shop present the DNA of the brand with features inspired by the Vans Waffle sole, action sports elements, art, music and street culture.

Essentiel: Diner d'amis

It's important to show some unconditional love to your people once in a while. That's what we did, hosting two dinners amongst friends of Essentiel this month. Taking time to catch up and see how bright the future looks, with a live jazz jam in the back and delish dishes on everybody's plate. We took a tour of the brand new Essentiel HQ, felt our jaw drop when entering Inge Onsea and Esfan Eghtessadi's office and took a sneak peak at the Essentiel SS12 collections. The evenings ended like every friends' night should, with hugs and kisses and friendships that grew a little stronger.

For the third year in a row they organized the Miele Catwalk, a whirling show of Belgian designers presenting their dashing collections.

Forever 21 is not only loved in Belgium. We selected a few lucky Dutch fashionista's to join us for the opening of the F21 store at the Meir. Despite the early morning call, most buzzers were set on 6.00 A.M!! All the girls were more then excited and looked FABULOUS. We arrived at 10am sharp in front of the store and were welcomed with goodiebags and Starbucks coffee. Could it get any better?

A small oona delegation was so brave as to go visit the new oona headquarters, just across the Schelde, Antwerp's river. It was very dangerous, we even had to wear helmets! Ok no, it wasn't really. It was very interesting though, even without furniture, windows, toilets, anything really...
But, ladies and gents, we do have a brand new floor, a lot of space, a great riverside view, a terrace and garden in the making, and last but not least, and buck loads of enthusiasm.

River Island Salon Show

Wednesday oona was totally party proof during the launch of the Fabulous River Island X-mass collection.

We organized an Amsterdam rooftop Salon Show for the Dutch fashion editors, stylists & bloggers.

The beautiful models showed jaw-dropping outfits in metallics, killer heels, fake fur and over the top accesoiries. During the show the temperature was rising so afterwards we cooled down with delicious HPNOTIQ cocktails & wasabi ice-cream.

It was truly winter heaven so move over winter depression!

Last tuesday the oona office was transformed into a winter wonderland for the presentation of the River Island X-mas collection. And when in good company, things get hot! The temperature was rising, while we enjoyed icy cold drinks and sweets, watching next winter walking by.
One thing's for sure, we won't put on a sad face when the temperatures drop after seeing these beauties!
